These pages use 2026 figures we checked on Canada.ca and in the Department of Finance automobile-allowance announcement. They are estimates you can recompute by hand. The notice of assessment, the T4, and the year’s official page win when they disagree.
GST/HST adds or removes a provincial preset: 5 percent GST, 13 percent Ontario HST, 15 percent in the Atlantic HST provinces, and combined shortcuts where a province still charges its own tax on top of GST. Quebec is 14.975 percent on the pre-tax price for a typical taxable sale. The page does not decide whether groceries are zero-rated. Vacation pay is a percent of gross wages. Four percent stands in for about two weeks. It does not decide whether you already took the time off.
EI for 2026 is 1.63 percent outside Quebec and 1.30 percent in Quebec, on insurable earnings up to $68,900. The employer pays 1.4 times the employee premium. The $729 maximum weekly benefit is a different calculation and is not on that page. CPP exempts the first $3,500, charges 5.95 percent up to the $74,600 YMPE, and charges CPP2 at 4 percent between $74,600 and the $85,000 YAMPE. Quebec uses QPP. Mileage is 73 cents then 67 cents per business kilometre in the provinces, plus 4 cents in the territories. That is the tax-exempt allowance, not the quarterly staff-travel table.
CMHC-style insurance is a percent of the loan when the down payment is under 20 percent. It protects the lender. Provincial tax on the premium is not included. Ontario land transfer tax is charged in slices, with Toronto’s municipal tax on top and higher Toronto slices above $3 million from 1 April 2026. The first-time checkbox applies the maximum rebate. It does not decide eligibility. RRSP room for 2026 is 18 percent of 2025 earned income up to $33,810, plus unused room, minus a pension adjustment. TFSA room adds the annual limits from the year you turned 18. The 2026 limit is $7,000. Lifetime room from 2009 with no contributions is $109,000. My Account is the legal figure once you have contributed.
