Trip fuel cost in kilometres or miles.
The fuel page is the only travel tool. It estimates what a trip costs at the pump from distance, consumption, and price. In Canada that is kilometres, litres per 100 km, and dollars per litre. A 650 km drive at 7.2 L/100 km uses 46.8 litres. At $1.62 a litre that is $75.82. The US side is miles, miles per gallon, and dollars per gallon. Switching the unit control changes the labels. It does not convert the numbers already in the boxes. A litre price left in the box after you switch to gallons will be nonsense.
Window-sticker ratings assume a steady speed. Winter fuel, a roof box, and short cold trips often use more. The page will not add a reserve unless you raise the distance or the consumption yourself. On a long gap between stations, add that reserve before you treat the result as the fuel you need in the tank. Two pump prices on one drive have to be averaged, or run as two legs and added.
